ODD MAN OUT
I know I’ve seen this kind of cartoon done before, originally it was just going to be the human drawing the short straw and the chicken say, “sorry Doug…”, but I had that familiar “been done” thing going. Perhaps it was The Farside, maybe someone else did it. Dunno. I’m glad I kept thinking about a variation, this one works for me.

The Far Side had a lifeboat full of guys and a dog, and one of the guys drew the shortest straw. Sure lifeboat situations have been done before, but that doesn’t make this one any less. =)
